Lovely Lighting...

I was so excited today when I saw this image posted by decorology.  Not only is it a lovely bedroom ((I love blues and purples together.  (My bedroom was actually supposed to be blue and purple, but it ended up blue and green.  I guess that is what working with what you already have can result in.  I didn't have much purple...)), but look at the chandelier (or technically speaking, light)!  I have been in love with the Garland Light by Tord Boontje for quite sometime now (I originally posted about it on my old blog back on October 14, 2007, just two days off of three years ago!).  I almost used it in my closet window but went with a crystal (okay, I'm pretty sure it is plastic...same difference) chandelier instead.  After seeing this again over this bed, I do believe it might be a necessary addition to our bedroom whenever we finish the attic and move up there.  Oh, and I definitely still want the brass one!

The Garland Light is a garland of flowers and leaves that wrap around the cord (usually sold separately) and fitting to create a floating poem of metal, nature and light. Available in silver, brass, black chrome and white.  The garland comes flatpacked. Simply bend and shape it around the fitting and bulb to create volume--just like flower arranging! Suggestion: Go to your local bulb shop and request an Edison bulb. The graphic filigree adds to the effect.

On the down side, the price of this lovely seems to have risen roughly $30 in the past three years.  Oh well, I'm still smitten!
Oh, and on a side note, since we are talking about Tord Boontje, I am totally drooling over this HP Mini for looks and looks alone...

Is it not gorgeous?
